IPC INFORMATION SYSTEMS NAMES CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER NEW YORK, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- IPC Information Systems, Inc.
today announced the appointment of Jeffrey Gill to the position of chief operating officer. IPC is part of the Kleinknecht Organization, a diversified electronics and telecommunications company headquartered in New York that acquired IPC from GTE in 1991.
Gill joins IPC having previously spent eight years at British Telecom, where he served in a number of operations, marketing and business development positions in the United States and the United Kingdom. Gill was the New York-based president and chief operating officer of British Telecom Financial Trading Systems from 1987 to 1990, when he was appointed vice president-marketing and business development for British Telecom North America, Inc. While based in the U.K. with British Telecom, Gill served in several sales, marketing and operations positions for the company's turret, computer, word processing and telephone businesses. Earlier in his career, Gill worked for nine years in sales management positions for Infotec, a U.K. distributor of office and computing equipment. At IPC, Gill is responsible for all operations, including research and development, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and sales. He reports to Peter Kleinknecht and Richard Kleinknecht, president and chairman, respectively, of IPC Information Systems, Inc. and the Kleinknecht Organization.
