 INVESTMENT FIRM CHANGES NAME TO CLAYTON, DUBILIER & RICE
 NEW YORK, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Clayton & Dubilier, Inc., a


New York-based private investment firm, today announced that the firm has changed its name to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Inc., to recognize the contributions and leadership of its president, Joseph L. Rice III. Rice, who joined Clayton & Dubilier in 1978, was instrumental in shaping the firm's strategy, unique among major management buyout firms, that combines operating and financial expertise in the investment process.
 Over the years, Rice has guided Clayton & Dubilier's expansion by attracting leading industrialists and investment bankers to the firm. He was also instrumental in the successful fundraising efforts for each of the four investment partnerships organized by the firm. Clayton, Dubilier & Rice currently manages a $1.2 billion pool of equity capital.
 Rice has spent the major portion of his career in the private investment business. He is a graduate of Williams College and Harvard Law School and practiced corporate and securities law with Sullivan & Cromwell before entering the investment field.
 Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Inc. is a private investment firm with a history of improving the operating performance of the companies in which it has invested. The firm has acquired 16 businesses with combined sales in excess of $10 billion since its inception in 1978, including Lexmark International, the Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company, Arnold Foods Company and the Scotts Company, which recently went public.
