INVACARE ANNOUNCES 31 COMFORT+PLUS(TM) FOAM PRODUCTS
FOR PRESSURE RELIEF
ATLANTA, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Invacare Corporation (NASDAQ/NMS: IVCR), America's foremost manufacturer and distributor of wheelchairs, homecare beds and other home medical equipment, will display its new therapeutic line of 31 Comfort+Plus(TM) Pressure Relief Foam products at the National Home Health Care Exposition, which opens Nov. 14 at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Pressure relief foam products are useed to help prevent and relieve decubitus pressure sores. Each mattress pad, wheelchair cushion, pillow, wedge, collar, roll and protector in the 31-member Comfort+Plus line is made from Polyfoam(R) 2000, an exclusive hypo-allergenic formulation. As a group, this line provides resilient cushioning from pressure points resulting in persons who use wheelchairs, are bedridden or whose hips, spine, heels or other body areas are subject to continuous pressure.
The body's pressure points aren't the only thing getting relief from the Comfort+Plus line. Unlike competitive products, no chlorofluorocarbons are released during Comfort+Plus foam product manufacture, and no harm is done to the ozone layer.
Pressure relief foam products create add-on sales to other dealer-consumer transactions. The Comfort+Plus line comes in attractive retail packaging, designed to enhance the dealer's showroom display and increase cash purchases. Because Comfort+Plus pressure relief foam products are stocked throughout Invacare's nationwide warehousing network and are as close as one-day delivery, dealers can avoid tying their money up in inventory. Additional value is realized through Invacare's One Stop Shopping Plus benefits.
With 1990 sales of $230 million, Invacare manufactures and distributes home healthcare and extended care equipment such as power and manual wheelchairs, respiratory equipment, hospital-type beds for the home, patient aids and three-wheel motorized scooters. Invacare is headquartered in Elyria, Ohio and has additional manufacturing locations in Ohio, Florida, California, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain and Germany.
