INTERTRANS EXPANDS OPERATIONS INTO THE FORMER U.S.S.R.
IRVING, Texas, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Sam N. Wilson, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Intertrans Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: ITRN), an international transportation services company based in Irving, announced today the development of a strategic alliance with Dialog Freight International (DFI) for the handling of cargo to the CIS (the former U.S.S.R.). DFI is a Moscow-based company located in major cities throughout the CIS. This alliance provides Intertrans and its entire network with the opportunity to export cargo from anywhere outside the CIS to strategic locations located therein, with the assurance that the cargo will be delivered per shipper and consignee requirement. Intertrans can now sell a seamless network to the many corporations now expanding into this developing part of the world. This new Intertrans/DFI team will now give our customers the benefit of local knowledge and hands-on service from the freight's origin to its final destination, which is critical in these developing countries with the CIS. Wilson says, "In my opinion, this gives our company a competitive advantage on handling cargo into the CIS." Intertrans is now handling cargo for Halliburton, Shaffer, Schlumberger, M.D. Seis, Baker Oil Tools, and Parker Drilling, and has recently been awarded the responsibility of handling cargo from outside the country of Kazakhstan (a former state of the U.S.S.R.), located near the Caspian Sea, on behalf of Tengizchevroil, a Kazakhstan limited partnership. The Intertrans Common Stock is traded on the National Market System of the National Association of Securities Dealers' Automated System under the symbol "ITRN". -0- 7/28/93 /CONTACT: Sam N.
