INTERNATIONAL TOTALIZATOR SYSTEMS GOES LIVE WITH LOTTERY SYSTEM IN PAPUA, NEW GUINEA

CARLSBAD, Calif., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- International Totalizator Systems Inc.(R) (NASDAQ: ITSI) has successfully commenced operation of the first national computerized lottery in Papua, New Guinea. A number of agency outlets throughout the country started selling lotto tickets on March 22, 1993. The first draw is scheduled for March 29, 1993. Based upon an independent market analysis, the company estimates it may receive as much as $1 million in gross annual revenues from the system after the first year of operation.
Separately, the company is further clarifying two previous announcements made recently: Earlier in March, the company signed another service agreement to manage a sports betting pool network in the Dominican Republic which is scheduled to become operational within the next 90 days. Within the first year of operation, the company anticipates it will recover its initial investment in this system as well as potentially generating several hundred thousand dollars in gross revenues to the company. Within the first five years, the company estimates its gross annual revenues to be as much as $4 million based on an independent analysis of the existing manual network's operations.
The company also previously announced a sales order valued at nearly $5 million for wagering terminals which will be installed for the first automated lottery game in the People's Republic of China. The company believes that being the first on-line supplier in this emerging and potentially large market may provide a competitive advantage.
International Totalizator Systems Inc. designs, manufactures, sells, supports and services computerized ticket issuing systems and terminals for the global pari-mutuel wagering, on-line lottery and automated travel ticket printing industries.
