INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORP. SELECTED FOR LOS ALAMOS NATIONAL LABORATORY ANALYTICAL CONTRACT -- INITIAL AWARD VALUED AT $15 MILLION

 TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- International Technology Corp. (IT) (NYSE: ITX) announced today that it has been selected by the University of California, a prime contractor to the Department of Energy (DOE), to provide analytical services in support of environmental restoration programs at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, N.M.
 The performance period is three years plus a two-year option. The maximum value of the initial contract is $15 million, and the option is for $10 million for a $25 million maximum total contract. Work under the contract will be funded annually within the limits of the contract.
 Under the contract, IT will analyze solid and liquid samples for trace level contamination from both chemical and radiochemical mixed waste contaminants. IT's St. Louis laboratory will be the principal location of the work with overflow analyses also being performed by IT's Oak Ridge, Tenn., laboratory.
