INTERNATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CORP. SELECTED FOR FOUR AWARDS FOR DOE-OWNED IDAHO NATIONAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY

 TORRANCE, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- International Technology Corp. (NYSE: ITX) (IT) announced today that it has been selected by EG&G Idaho Inc. for four awards under a single, fixed unit price task order contract. IT will provide environmental, waste management and related engineering services to the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL), a DOE-owned facility, near Idaho Falls, Idaho.
 The performance period is three years plus two one-year options. The contract has no level of effort or expenditure ceilings and has an estimated value of $6-8 million based on IT historical data.
 IT bid on and won four awards in the areas of Mixed Radioactive Waste, Low Level Radioactive Waste, Transuranic Waste, and Hazardous Waste. The scope of work will include: regulatory compliance, characterization, disposal site selection and alternative technology, processing, stabilization and closure, reduction, risk assessment and safety analysis.
