 U.S. EPA RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CONTRACT
 TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- International Technology Corp. (IT) (NYSE: ITX) announced today that it has been awarded a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency research and development delivery order contract with an estimated value of $25 million. The award is a cost plus award fee (CPAF) contract and has a one-year performance period with four one-year renewal options.
 The contract will provide research for the prevention, detection and cleanup of contamination from leaking underground storage tanks, waste site and spills of hazardous materials at various locations. The project is expected to begin later this month.
 Murray H. Hutchison, chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "This award demonstrates IT's broad capabilities to serve the underground storage tank market."
 International Technology Corp., based in Torrance, is a leading environmental management company providing services to government and industry. The company's common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ITX.
