 OF PHASE A AT SIKES DISPOSAL PITS SUPERFUND SITE
 TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- International Technology Corp. (NYSE: ITX) (IT) and Davy McKee Corp. - San Francisco (Davy) announced today the completion of Phase A of the Sikes Disposal Pits Superfund project. The IT/Davy joint venture project involves on-site incineration of approximately 340,000 tons of contaminated soils and sludges. The project is located in Crosby, Texas and was awarded by the Texas Water Commission.
 Phase A consisted of site preparation, flood protection and other site infrastructure work, and construction of IT's HTTS (R) incineration units. The completion of Phase A culminated with a successful 72-hour test burn with the equipment averaging 50 tons/hour. In addition, the IT/Davy joint venture received notice to proceed on Phase B of the project. Phase B involves the incineration of contaminated materials and site closure.
 International Technology Corp., based in Torrance, is a leading environmental management company providing services to government and industry. Davy is a member of the Engineering Division of Trafalgar House Public Limited Co., an international engineering and construction organization which provides services to iron, steel and nonferrous producers, and has an established reputation for innovative treatment of toxic waste substances. Trafalgar House's common stock is traded on the London stock exchange.
