INTERNATIONAL SKYLINE RE-OPENS JOHNNY MOUNTAIN MINE

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Clifford A. Grandison, president and chief executive officer of International Skyline Gold Corp. (Vancouver, Toronto: ISC), has announced the re- opening of the company's Johnny Mountain gold mine in northern British Columbia for a limited production run of 20,000 tons of ore grading .508 recoverable ounces of gold per ton.
Mining will commence immediately using a contract miner with a target of 26,000 tons of ore to be broken leaving an inventory of 6,000 tons to be milled next year. Milling is planned to commence Sept. 9, 1993, for a period of two months and is scheduled to produce 10,000 ounces of gold together with approximately 120,000 pounds of copper and 15,000 ounces of silver. Total cost of gold produced with copper and silver credits is approximately U.S. $233 per ounce.
Project manager will be Chris Turek, an experienced underground mining engineer, who will be located at the minesite.
Working capital to finance the re-opening of the mine is being arranged through the private placement of $1,250,000, 8 percent convertible debenture.
Exploration is currently underway in the mine with the objective of identifying a minimum of 100,000 tons of ore. If this target is achieved, operations will resume on a seasonal basis. The mine has proven mineable reserves of 36,000 tons of ore grading .508 recoverable ounces of gold per ton and a total of 66,000 tons proven and probable ore grading .57 ounces of gold per ton.
Exploration on the Bronson Creek copper/gold porphyry property which is near the Johnny Mountain mine has begun. An induced polarization survey is complete and the results are being analyzed for drilling targets. Several targets have already been identified and a series of drilling fences is scheduled for this season. The Stonehouse deposit is being explored on surface with trenching and drilling currently underway. Details of exploration results will be released shortly.
