INTERNATIONAL MOBILE MACHINES SHIPS GTE ORDER
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- International Mobile

Machines Corporation (NASDAQ: IMMC) announced today that it is shipping 1,200 Ultraphone(R) digital radiotelephone subscriber units and four base stations to GTE North for installation in upper Michigan.
This shipment, valued at $3.4 million, is part of a previously announced $7.5 million order received from GTE earlier this year.
"The Ultraphone installation in upstate Michigan is part of a large upgrade program to convert GTE customers from multi-party to single- party lines," said William J. Hilsman, chairman and chief executive officer of IMM. "The Federal Communications Commission's Industry Analysis Division report on Trends in Telephone Service shows that as of March 1991, 6.1 million households in America are without phone service. In addition, hundreds of thousands of households have multi-party lines, which deny a family privacy as well as the use of modern technology such as answering or facsimile machines. The Ultraphone is a cost-effective way for a telephone company to solve its multi-party line problem."
IMM said it is enjoying another record year of Ultraphone sales, increasing its Ultraphone revenue nearly 100 percent over 1990, and looks forward to continued increases in revenue in 1992.
