AS PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- International Mobile Machines Corporation (AMEX: IMM) announced today the appointment of William W. Erdman as president and chief operating officer.
Erdman's primary focus will be in bringing profitability to IMM's Ultraphone business and turning IMM's patent portfolio into a multimillion-dollar revenue generating business.
"We are pleased that an executive of Bill Erdman's talents has joined the IMM team and accepted the challenge of continuing the development of IMM into a world class company," said William J. Hilsman, chairman and chief executive officer of IMM. "He brings to IMM a diverse, successful background. His competence in sales and marketing, his knowledge of patents, and his proven track record of attaining profitability are welcome attributes at this key phase of our corporate growth. We welcome Bill to the IMM family."
Erdman has many accomplishments to his credit as a result of his extensive experience in all phases of U.S. and international business. He was a past member of the board of directors of CTIA. He also founded Celltech, Inc., one of the largest independent providers of cellular and independent telephone company billing services, and co-founded Maxcell Telecom Plus, Inc., a cellular radiotelephone company.
Previous to joining IMM, Erdman was employed as the executive consultant to the CEO of International Marine Holdings, the world's largest supplier of marine accessories. In this role, he reorganized the lines of business to focus on growth and profitability.
In addition, as founder and CEO of US Video, Inc., a computer hardware company holding patents in MultiMedia computer applications and hardware, Erdman negotiated and signed royalty agreements to manufacture and sell the product through national computer distribution channels.
Erdman began his career at International Business Machines Corporation, where he held a number of executive, sales, marketing and product development positions including director of operations for IBM World Trade Asia Corporation.
