INTERNATIONAL FAST FOOD OPENS FOURTH BURGER KING RESTAURANT IN POLAND; COMPANY PLANS TO OPEN SIX ADDITIONAL SITES DURING NEXT NINE MONTHS

MIAMI BEACH, Fla., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- International Fast Food Corporation (NASDAQ: FOOD), the Burger King(R) franchisee with the exclusive development rights for the Republic of Poland, today announced it has opened its fourth traditional Burger King restaurant in Warsaw. Mitchell Rubinson, International Fast Food's chairman and chief executive officer, said the company's latest restaurant broke all previous sales records and drew a crowd that was almost as large as the 15,000 people who attended the opening of the first Burger King during the winter.
Rubinson said the company's four Burger King restaurants are all located in the central business district of Warsaw and each can seat up to several hundred people at a time and can serve several thousand each day. "Our Burger King restaurants offer the Polish consumer the traditional American-style menu of hamburgers, french fries and soft drinks, with two of the sites featuring children's play areas and one also having a video arcade for adults," he added.
With the opening of the fourth restaurant, Rubinson said the company is slightly ahead of its growth plan and attributes this in part to the Polish consumers' strong acceptance of Western culture and products. "The Polish consumer has eagerly greeted Burger King, leading us to move up our restaurant construction and opening schedule," he said. "Their appetite for American and Western products and lifestyles should help both the restaurants and the company grow as we continue to expand throughout the country in the next several years."
Rubinson added, "Equally important, Warsaw's daily newspaper, Nowa Europa, has designated Burger King 'Number One in Warsaw.' The paper continued, 'after opening its fourth restaurant in Warsaw on Wednesday, Burger King will be the best represented fast food network in the capital.'"
The company has secured 15 additional locations throughout Poland for its Burger King concept, Rubinson added, and is beginning construction on six restaurants, each to be located in a major metropolitan city in Poland. The company expects to open these restaurants during the fourth quarter of 1993 and the first quarter of 1994.
International Fast Food was organized in December 1991 to develop franchised Burger King restaurants in the Republic of Poland. It completed an initial public offering of approximately 1.5 million shares in May 1992, generating $6.1 million in net proceeds, which will be used to develop restaurants. In December 1992, the company raised an additional $11.4 million from the sale of a 9-percent Convertible Subordinated Debenture due 2007.
