INTERMODAL TECHNOLOGIES REMOVES OVER 5,000 LOADS OF WASTE

NASHUA, N.H., Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Intermodal Technologies, Inc., developers of the patented "Railaway Plus(R)" intermodal bulk materials transportation system, announced today that it has shipped over 5,000 "Bulkrailer(R)" loads of municipal solid waste, sewage sludge and waste-to-energy plant residual ash.
Originating in the Boston and New York Metro areas, this 400,000 plus tons of waste was properly disposed of in new sub-title D regulated landfills. In addition to removing 19,000 truck moves from I-95 and saving over 11 million gallons of fuel, "Railaway Plus," operating under exclusive license to Chambers Development Co., (AMEX: CDV) Pittsburgh, provided cities and towns significant cost reductions.
"Intermodal interstate transportation of wastes to large, regional sub-title D landfills is a cost and environmental winner," stated Ken Patrick, president. "In these times of tight budgets, municipalities must focus on costs and environment rather than expensive 'source reduction,' 'beneficial re-use' and other fiscally uncertain 'solutions.'"
Founded in 1989, Intermodal Technologies, Inc., is a privately held company engaged in the development and operation of intermodal transportation systems. It was awarded its fourth patent in July, 1993.
