INTERFACE ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES

LAGRANGE, Ga., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Interface, Inc. (NASDAQ: IFSIA) announced today the appointment of Charles Eitel to the position of president and chief executive officer of Interface Flooring Systems, Inc., the company's modular carpet subsidiary with operations in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Eitel, formerly president of the Floor Covering Division of Collins and Aikman, Inc., succeeds C. Edward Terry, who continues as president and chief executive officer of Interface Research Corporation and the company's Chemical Division, which operates as Pandel, Inc. and Rockland React-Rite, Inc.
In commenting on the changes, Ray C. Anderson, chairman and chief executive officer of Interface, Inc., parent company of the Interface group, said, "We are thrilled to have an executive of the proven caliber of Charlie Eitel join our team. He will take the helm of a fine company that is even stronger for having weathered the difficult economic conditions through which Ed Terry has so skillfully guided it the last three years. This enables Ed to focus on the company's vitally important innovation process as well as its chemical businesses, which have huge potential in their own right."
Interface, Inc. is committed to delivering superior value to its customers, as the world's largest manufacturer of modular carpet under the Interface and Heuga brands, and interior fabrics under the Guilford of Maine and Stevens Linen brands, for use in offices, healthcare facilities, airports, educational and other institutions, and retail facilities. Through its Bentley Mills subsidiary, the company also manufactures and markets high quality, designer-oriented broadloom carpeting used primarily for commercial and institutional applications. In addition, the company manufactures and sells chemicals used in various rubber and plastic products, and offers Intersept(R), the company's proprietary antimicrobial chemical, under a licensing program to manufacturers of other products.
