INTERACTIVE NETWORK ANNOUNCES CHICAGO ROLLOUT

 MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Interactive Network Inc. (NASDAQ: INNN) announced today at its annual meeting of shareholders plans for the nationwide expansion of its interactive television entertainment system. As a first step, the company will offer its service in the Chicago market this September. David B. Lockton, Interactive Network's president and chief executive officer, stated that the Chicago market represented a tremendous opportunity for Interactive Network. "The Chicago market is one with a large number of TV households and one which has many avid sports fans," stated Lockton. The company announced that it intends to expand its service into additional major markets beginning in April 1994 and to ultimately offer its service nationally.
 The company also announced that, to facilitate its expansion plans, it had engaged the investment banking firm of Lazard Freres & Co. Lockton added, "We look forward to working with this widely respected firm."
 Interactive Network has the only operating interactive television system for the home, a subscription-based patented entertainment system allowing television viewers to interact directly with televised sports, game shows, primetime and news/talk programs. Strategic investors include the National Broadcasting Co. Inc., Tele-Communications Inc., Gannett Co. Inc. and A.C. Nielsen.
