INTER-REGIONAL FINANCIAL GROUP NAMES BOREN TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Inter-Regional Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: IFG), parent company of two regional brokerage and investment banking firms, Dain Bosworth Incorporated and Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, today announced that Susan S. Boren of Minneapolis has been elected to join its board of directors. She becomes the fourth non- management director of IFG's seven-member board.
 Boren, 45, is group vice president of stores for the Dayton Hudson Department Store Division of Dayton Hudson Corporation, where she is in charge of overall store strategy, customer and employee relations, merchandising and operations for seven Dayton's department stores and three Dayton's home stores in the Twin Cities area.

"Having served with distinction over the last 12 years in various line and staff positions within a retail organization that is known for its marketing and customer-orientation, she will bring an important perspective to the deliberations of IFG's board," he said.
 Prior to joining the department store division as vice president of human resources, Boren held several staff positions within Dayton Hudson Corporation from 1981 to 1987, including vice president of control; assistant controller; and director of financial planning and analysis. Prior to joining Dayton Hudson, she held a series of posts at Bendix Corporation and Winters National Bank, both of Dayton, Ohio, and Wellington Management Company, Boston.
 Boren earned an undergraduate degree in English literature from Antioch College and a masters in business administration from the University of Dayton. She is a director of Valspar Corporation and serves on four non-profit boards: Greater Minneapolis Girl Scout Council, Minnesota Public Radio, Antioch University and Minneapolis Foundation. Boren also is a member of the Minnesota Women's Economic Roundtable. She is married and has two children.
