 INTELLIGENT ELECTRONICS ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENTS
 EXTON, Pa., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Electronics, Inc.


(NASDAQ-NMS: INEL), a leading retailer of office productivity solutions, today announced the appointment of Edward A. Meltzer, chief financial officer; Curtis A. Massey, vice president of financial reporting and controls; and Terese M. DeLaney, corporate controller.
 Prior to his appointment to the position of CFO, Meltzer served as Intelligent's vice president and treasurer. A resident of Chester Springs, Pa., Meltzer joined the company in January 1989 when it acquired Entre' Computer Centers, Inc., where he had served as treasurer.
 Meltzer will report to Intelligent's president and chief operating officer Michael R. Shabazian, who lauded him for his long-standing dedication and commitment to Intelligent, "Ed has played a key role in the growth and success of this company. This promotion recognizes his past achievements and significant future responsibilities." Shabazian indicated Meltzer was replacing the former CFO who left the position for personal reasons.
 Prior to joining Entre' in 1985, Meltzer was director of bank and credit administration for UNC, Inc., a diversified technology company. He worked for Ford Motor Company for nine years rising to the position of supervisor of profit analysis. Meltzer earned a BS degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1971 and an MBA from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business in 1973.
 Massey, as vice president of financial reporting and controls, will report to Meltzer, who praised Massey for his "significant contributions to the financial success of Intelligent." Massey joined Intelligent in 1989 as corporate controller. Prior to that, Massey held audit management positions for Price Waterhouse and Touche Ross and Co. Massey, who is a CPA, earned a BA in economics from Dickinson College in 1978 and an MBA from Rutgers Graduate School of Business in 1979. He and his family currently reside in West Chester, Pa.
 According to Massey, DeLaney's appointment to corporate controller recognizes her outstanding performance and commitment to the business. DeLaney, a CPA, joined Intelligent in 1989 and has held various accounting management positions. Prior to Intelligent, DeLaney was a Corporate Accountant for Heritage Health Systems. A resident of Eagle, Pa., DeLaney earned a BS degree in accounting from Indiana University of Pa. in 1983.
