 IN BIZMART'S JANUARY SAME STORE SALES
 EXTON, Pa., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Electronics, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: INEL), a leading large-format retailer, today reported that BizMart, its wholly owned subsidiary and chain of office productivity supercenters, increased same store sales for the five-week period ended Feb. 1, 1992, by 55 percent compared to sales during the same period last year.
 Of BizMart's 71 stores, 47 have been opened a year or more and are included in the calculation.
 "Customers are responding enthusiastically to our focus on total office productivity," said James Berk, president and chief executive officer of Intelligent's Consumer Retail Group. "Computer products are playing an increasingly large role in sales, and our traditional office products are experiencing double digit growth as well," he said.
 Since acquiring the BizMart chain in June, Intelligent Electronics has enhanced and reformatted all the supercenters to sell and support leading, name-brand microcomputer products from manufacturers including Apple, Compaq, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM. For November and December, the company reported BizMart same store sales increases of 51 and 55 percent, respectively.
 Intelligent operates BizMart supercenters and megacenters in the Midwest, Southwest and West, with the opening of its first east coast megacenter scheduled for Feb. 16 in Virginia. Its network of more than 1,500 resellers and 71 supercenters provides office productivity solutions to businesses in more than 700 communities throughout the United States.
