INTELLICORP AND KNOWLEDGEWARE ANNOUNCE CASECONNECTION PRODUCT
 FOR COMMERCIAL UNIX MARKET
ATLANTA, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- IntelliCorp, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: INAI) and KnowledgeWare, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: KNOW) today announced the availability of CaseConnection(TM)/ADW, a software bridge to allow KnowledgeWare's Application Development Workbench(R)(ADW)(R) customers to design and construct client/server applications on Unix workstations and servers using IntelliCorp's PROKAPPA(TM) system as a lower CASE tool.
CaseConnection/ADW consists of both software modules and implementation services to translate the entity relations (ER) models in the ADW encyclopedia into PROKAPPA objects and relations supported by the PROKAPPA object manager. This capacity enables customers using ADW products for the design and analysis of mainframe and OS/2 applications to have a companion CASE solution for UNIX application development. With IntelliCorp's powerful object system technology, developers can interactively create graphic interfaces and business transaction logic directly from an object representation of ADW's entity relations models. This is achieved without requiring the formal structured decomposition and procedural programming techniques of lower CASE approaches. This capability provides faster and simpler software development and lower long-term maintenance costs.
"This is an important step in our strategy to take advantage of object technology, and an opportunity to help our customers deliver their applications on the UNIX and Windows platforms," said Don Addington, president and COO of KnowledgeWare.
"We are pleased to have KnowledgeWare as a partner in delivering object CASE for client/server applications," said Kc Branscomb, IntelliCorp's president and CEO. "We see CaseConnection/ADW as a milestone in speeding and simplifying the software design and construction process for complex distributed applications." CaseConnection/ADW, currently in initial field testing, is available through IntelliCorp.
IntelliCorp develops and markets software to MIS customers for design and construction of client/server applications. The company's products PROKAPPA(TM), KAPPA-PC(TM) and KEE(R) are enriched by 10 years of technical leadership in object-oriented development software and knowledge systems applications. IntelliCorp's products are marketed through the company's direct sales force and authorized resellers. Headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., IntelliCorp has approximately 110 employees with offices across the United States and Europe.
