INTEGRATED CIRCUIT SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES NEW PROGRAMMABLE
 HIGH-SPEED VIDEO TIMING GENERATOR
VALLEY FORGE, Pa., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Circuit Systems Inc. (ICS) (NASDAQ: ICST) announced the introduction of its new, high-performance programmable video timing generator, the ICS1562. The ICS1562 provides clock rates up to 230 megahertz (MHz), with selected bin-out clock rates of the device as high as 320 MHz. The ICS1562 eliminates the need for multiple high-frequency ECL crystal oscillators, allowing the user to achieve major savings in board space and costs. Integrated Circuit Systems also introduced the ICS1567 which provides clock rates of 180 MHz in a mask programmable ROM format. The ICS1567 eliminates the need for multiple ECL crystal clock oscillators and provides a low-cost solution for high-end video clock generation.
"These new products clearly demonstrate that ICS is at the leading edge of the high performance timing solutions market," stated Edward Arnold, president and chief executive officer. "This latest generation of new clock devices utilizes sophisticated frequency synthesis techniques, including user-programmability, and provides flexible, cost-effective solutions for high-performance video clock generation.
"Pricing of these products is commensurate with performance," continued Mr. Arnold. "The standard 230 MHz ICS1562 is priced at $25.80 in lots of 1,000. The 180 MHz ICS1567 is priced at $18.55 in lots of 1,000. This is consistent with our strategy to continue penetrating non-commodity high-end market niches in order to command higher average selling prices."
Samples of the ICS1562 are currently available, with production quantities now ramping up for full availability by year end. Preprogrammed samples of the ICS1567 are available now, and production quantities are available with standard lead-times.
ICS, founded in 1976, designs, develops and markets standard and application-specific VLSI integrated circuits using mixed analog/digital signal technology.
