INTEGRATED CIRCUIT SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES FOURTH QUARTER AND YEAR-END ESTIMATES

VALLEY FORGE, Penn., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Integrated Circuit Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: ICST) announced today that it expects its earnings per share for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ending June 30, 1993, will fall between 30 cents and 31 cents for the fourth quarter, and between $1.13 and $1.14 for the fiscal year. These estimates fall within the range of current analyst estimates of 28 cents to 35 cents for the fourth quarter, and $1.12 to $1.18 for the 1993 fiscal year. These earnings per share figures would show an increase of approximately 40 percent over last year's fourth quarter, and an increase of approximately 135 percent over fiscal 1992.
The company believes that revenues for the 1993 fourth quarter and fiscal year will increase substantially compared to the quarter and the fiscal year ended June 30, 1992. Revenues for the quarter ending June 30, 1993, are expected to decrease slightly as compared to the third quarter ended March 31, 1993, primarily due to a decline in sales of the company's lower performance video frequency timing generator products as previously discussed in the company's third quarter report on form 10-Q. The company expects that this decrease in revenues, and future anticipated decreases in such revenues, will be offset (although initially not fully offset) by increased sales of higher margin frequency timing generator products and PC multimedia products. In addition, ICS is engaged in exploring and developing new product opportunities which would allow ICS to further diversify its product lines.
"We understand the frustration of market uncertainties," stated Edward Arnold, chief executive officer of Integrated Circuit Systems Inc. "We are striving to be responsive to the shareholders and supporters of ICS," Arnold continued. "The company's board of directors is presently considering several strategies to enhance shareholder value."
