INSTITUTIONAL BROKER LYNCH, JONES & RYAN LAUNCHES FIRST AD CAMPAIGN TO HERALD AGENCY TRADING STRENGTH

NEW YORK, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The institutional brokerage firm Lynch, Jones & Ryan, Inc., today announced the launch of a year-long advertising campaign in the financial media, calling attention to the 27-year-old firm's strengths in agency trading, commission recapture programs and independent research.
The advertisements, targeting financial publications, take a barbed tongue-in-cheek tone and begin running today in Pensions & Investments, a trade magazine for institutional money managers.
"It's time that Lynch, Jones & Ryan communicate more broadly the services it provides to institutional investors and plan sponsors," said Howard J. Schwartz, president and CEO of the firm. "The quality of our execution of client orders has built us to a consistent ranking among the top two dozen New York Stock Exchange members, in New York Stock Exchange agency trading volume. We created the commission recapture program and we're one of the largest vendors of independent, third-party research to the investment community in the world. The time has come for us to get our story out."
The first ad is a mock-up of "an open letter to President Clinton" and calls attention to the firm's seven-year-old commission recapture program.
Later ads will feature computer-merged images, including a Great Wall of China running through the Financial District, with the headline "The only Chinese Wall we know of is in China." The ad goes on to assert that only an agency brokerage firm -- which commits no capital -- can act purely in the customer's interest.
The ad campaign is conceived and created in-house.
Lynch, Jones & Ryan, Inc., founded in 1966, is a securities brokerage firm well known for its agency trading capabilities. The firm transacts equity and fixed-income trades for more than 1,400 institutional money management clients around the world and is a pioneer in providing independent research services to institutional investors, currently offering more than 500 research products and services to its clients.
In addition, the firm's Plan Sponsor Services(SM) division is the largest provider of commission recapture programs, with over 500 corporate, public and Taft-Hartley fund clients.
