INSIDE EVERY FAT CAT THERE'S A THIN CAT SHOUTING; LET MIAOWT.

THIS massive moggie brought a whole new meaning to the term fat cat.

Fifi tipped the scales at more than 10kg before her owner put her on a diet and she shed 2kg - 22per cent of her weight - leading to her being commended by the PDSA's pet fit club.

And another fat feline grew so big that vets said he was the biggest cat they had seen.

Maverick ballooned to a massive 10.2kg and was struggling to breathe.

Owner Dee Doyle, from Leith, enlisted him in the pet fit club to help him shed 1.22kg, or 12 per cent of its bodyweight.

Jane and George Hunter, from Airdrie, entered their cocker spaniel Billy in the fat-fighting competition after he tipped the scales at 23.5kg.

Now, following a six-month diet and fitness programme, he has managed to drop to 16.6kg.

The UK pet fit club overall winner was Cavalier King Charles spaniel Jack, from London, who shed 31 per cent of his bodyweight.
