INNOVET ADDS PRODUCTS AND SALES STAFF; SERVES REFERENCE LABORATORIES

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- InnoVet, Inc. (AMEX: IVT.EC), is expanding its sales staff and animal health product lines to increase service to veterinary laboratories, the company announced today.
The company is establishing a U.S.-based sales force, and will distribute veterinary laboratory products from three medical supply companies as well as products from InnoVet's British subsidiary, Cambridge Veterinary Sciences (CVS).
Joining the company as a sales representative is Susan Fleming, who has a background in sales management and marketing communications. Dr. Daniel E. Walker, InnoVet's vice president, sales and marketing, said Fleming's experience in the retail and wholesale drug industry and her sales management background bring added perspective to the company's sales efforts.
Walker also said InnoVet has completed agreements with Stanbio Laboratory, Inc., of San Antonio, Texas, and Diagnostic Products Corp. (DPC), of Los Angeles, to market a line of veterinary clinical chemistry products made by Stanbio and a line of veterinary endocrinology diagnostic products made by DPC. InnoVet is also selling a mare pregnancy test made by Ubitech, of Uppsala, Sweden, for which InnoVet has U.S. rights.
Walker said InnoVet is focusing this expansion of its business on state and private veterinary laboratories and universities and colleges where veterinarians and veterinary technicians are trained. He said the additional lines of diagnostic products complement CVS's products and will allow InnoVet to offer a complete diagnostic product line to veterinary laboratories.
The CVS products include Ovusure diagnostic kits, which detect progesterone levels in small and large animals to optimize the timing of insemination, and Pathasure kits for detecting disease-causing bacteria and viruses. Pathasure kits for bovine enteritis and for cryptosporidiosis are currently in field trials for USDA licensing and sales are currently being made for investigational uses only. Both Ovusure and Pathasure kits are on the market in Europe.
InnoVet is a biotechnology company engaged in research, development and marketing of pharmaceutical, biological, diagnostic and nutritional products primarily for the animal health care market. Some of the company's products and technologies also have applications in human health and nutrition.
InnoVet's warrants (NASDAQ: IVET-W) and units (NASDAQ: IVET-U) are also traded.
