INNOVATIVE PROGRAM FILLS THE NEED FOR TRAINED
 PHARMACY TECHNICIANS IN MASSACHUSETTS
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- In today's sophisticated and complex pharmaceutical industry, pharmacists need astute, enthusiastic assistants.
Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. recognized this need and developed the Pharmacy Technician training program. Pharmacy technicians are trained assistants who effectively perform ancillary duties, specific to the dispensing of medications, while under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
The Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. program originated with an affiliation with a single New Jersey college, and now provides education programs in conjunction with four colleges throughout New Jersey. Continuing with the growth of this successful program, Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. is beginning to offer classes in association with Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, Mass., and Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, Mass. Classes are also offered in conjunction with colleges in Ohio and Oklahoma.
Alliances with universities and hospitals help Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. meet today's demand for trained healthcare professionals. The training program offers traditional classroom learning and intensive, hands-on workshops in areas such as healthcare terminology, elementary pharmacy mathematics, measures and weights, dispensing procedures, and hospital pharmacy.
The Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. training program is structured to achieve a balance between traditional higher education and on-the-job training in an effort to provide pharmacists with valuable aides. By the conclusion of the Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. training course, individuals will have acquired the basic skills to begin assisting pharmacists in their day-to-day activities.
Pharmacy Technician Group, Inc. also offers employment assistance after students complete the program. Former students have been placed in hospitals, home healthcare agencies, retail pharmacies, nursing homes, and other areas within the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry. This service is provided at no charge to the employer. The classes being held locally will make valuable assistants available to many pharmacists in the Massachusetts area.
