INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING OF 7 MILLION SHARES OF LOUIS DREYFUS NATURAL GAS CORP. COMMON STOCK AT $18 PER SHARE

 OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., Nov. 12/PRNewswire/ -- Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corporation and PaineWebber Incorporated, as managers of the underwriting group, announced the initial public offering today of 7,000,000 shares of common stock of Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas Corp. at a price of $18 per share. All of the shares of common stock are being sold by the Company. Of the total, 5.6 million shares will be offered in the United States and Canada by a group of U.S. underwriters and 1.4 million shares will be offered outside the United States and Canada. Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas Corp. will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol LD.
 Louis Dreyfus Natural Gas Corp. is an independent energy company engaged in the acquisition, development, production and marketing of natural gas and crude oil. The Company's activities are concentrated in major producing basins in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and the Gulf Coast.
