INFRASONICS REPORTS RECORD REVENUE AND PROFIT FOR CALENDAR YEAR
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Infrasonics (NASDAQ: IFRA) announced today that revenue for the calendar year ended Dec. 31, 1991, increased 54 percent to $13,308,500, compared to $8,636,100 for the same period a year ago. The profit for the year just completed jumped 105 percent to $1,265,000 or $0.14 per share, compared to $617,700, or $0.08 per share for the calendar year ending Dec. 31, 1990.
For the second quarter just ended, Dec. 31, 1991, revenue was up 71 percent to $3,637,500, compared to $2,125,800 for the same period a year ago. The profit for the quarter increased 97 percent to $501,600 (or $0.05 per share), compared to $254,300 (or $0.03 per share) for the same period last year.
Fred McGee, Infrasonics' chief financial officer, said, "These important improvements are due to the introduction of new products, greater acceptance by customers and the resulting expanded market share. The investment we made over the past few years in R&D is beginning to show a return. In addition, our balance sheet remains strong with a current ratio of approximately twenty to one (20 to 1) with no long-term debt. We are optimistic, given the current economic conditions, that these trends will continue in subsequent years."
Infrasonics is a public company with its common shares traded nationally Over the Counter under the NASDAQ symbol IFRA. The company manufactures ventilators (respirators) for babies, children, and adults as well as other respiratory care products for use in hospitals and the home.
