INFRASONICS COMPLETES PURCHASE OF PREEMICARE CORP.
INFRASONICS COMPLETES PURCHASE OF PREEMICARE CORP. SAN DIEGO, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Infrasonics Inc. (NASDAQ: IFRA)
announced today that it has completed the purchase of the assets of PreemiCare Corp., a manufacturer of infant incubators and ventilators (respirators).
Jim Hitchin, Infrasonics' president, said, "We are extremely pleased that the people and products of PreemiCare will join with us in expanding our presence in the infant care market place. We see many opportunities for further expansion in this vital area. "Approximately 500,000 babies are born 'at risk' each year in this country. This represents neonatal intensive care costs in excess of $5 billion annually. Naturally, ventilators and incubators are an important part of patient care for these fragile infants." Infrasonics is a public company with its shares traded nationally over the counter under the NASDAQ symbol IFRA. The company manufactures incubators for premature babies, ventilators (respirators) for infants, children and adults, as well as other respiratory care products for use in more than 40 countries in hospitals and the home. -0- 4/1/92 /CONTACT: Fred McGee of Infrasonics, 619-450-9898, ext. 312/ (IFRA) CO: Infrasonics Inc.; PreemiCare Corp.
