INFOSPAN EXPANDS ITS BUSINESS PARTNER RELATIONSHIP WITH IBM

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoSpan Corporation, a leading workgroup software development vendor, announced today it has expanded its business relationship with IBM (NYSE: IBM) through a technology licensing agreement that allows InfoSpan to offer the IBM Information Model. InfoSpan became an IBM AD/Cycle Business Partner in 1991, and is now licensed to provide IBM's Information Model to expand the capabilities of InfoSpan's Repository Management and CASE tool integration product solutions.
InfoSpan's Repository Management System (IRMS) supports IBM's AD/Cycle framework by providing extensions to IBM's Information Model that will allow customers to develop and use the repository to manage information resources more effectively.
CaseSpan is a CASE tool integration and bridging application that consolidates design information across CASE tools at the workgroup level. Software designs can be managed and stored in the repository using the Information Model.
"We're honored that IBM has chosen InfoSpan for this strategic technology relationship," said Harjinder Gill, president and CEO of InfoSpan. "As IBM's Information Model becomes the defacto standard in repository systems, integrating it with InfoSpan's solutions will significantly improve our customer's ability to manage information resources across multiple technical platforms," he said.
"The integration of IBM's Information Model with capabilities of IRMS and CaseSpan will allow us to broaden solutions available to our customers," said Jim Archer, IBM's PRGS director, AD/Cycle. "Alignment with the leading CASE technology players like InfoSpan will accelerate the use of the Information Model at the workgroup level by bridging applications development information across CASE tools."
InfoSpan Corporation, founded in 1988, develops workgroup repository software for open systems in its Minneapolis headquarters, providing solutions to Fortune 1000 companies as well as the federal, state and local governments. Customers include IBM Corporation, J.P. Morgan, Control Data Corporation, U.S. House of Representatives, NASD and the U.S. Departments of Commerce and Treasury (IRS).
