INFORMATION FOR WORKERS.
The EU's Court of Justice says that it has received applications from the Commission concerning the failure by three member states to implement EU legislation. Spain and Ireland are accused of failing to transpose or to notify the Commission of measures transposing the Directive of 8 October 2001, complementing the European company statutes regarding the involvement of employees (the deadline for transposition expired on 8 October 2004). Italy is, meanwhile, accused of failing to transpose or notify the Commission of measures transposing the Directive of 11 March 2002 on information and consultation of workers (the transposition deadline expired on 23 March 2005).
