INFORMATION ACCESS COMPANY ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN ZIFF COMMUNICATIONS AND ACCESS DYNAMICS

 FOSTER CITY, Calif., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Access Co. today announced a partnership between Ziff Communications and Access Dynamics Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
 The partnership between the two companies results in the formation of the Automotive Information Center. The center will promote automotive database services previously developed by Access Dynamics Inc. and automotive industry information published by Information Access Co. The center also will provide full-service information to both the industry and auto purchasers. Information Access Co., a division of Ziff Communications, will serve as the primary link with Access Dynamics Inc. in the management and strategic planning of the Automotive Information Center.
 "By combining the technical resources and database content of the partners, Automotive Information Center customers will receive a wide variety of the most up-to-date automotive industry news and information using the latest access technology," said Morris Goldstein, president of Information Access Co. "The combination of Ziff Communications and Access Dynamics Inc. will enable the market to benefit from a total service organization."
 Wayne Lilley, president of Access Dynamics Inc., will become the chief executive officer of the Automotive Information Center, and will manage the company's daily operations, which will remain in Concord, Mass.
 Access Dynamics Inc., a software and consulting firm, serves the automobile industry with its new car information database, AutoNet/AutoBase. The database includes information on more than 1,000 car and truck models from the 40 major import and domestic manufacturers. Coverage includes pricing information, technical specifications, and standard and optional equipment data. In 1983, the AutoNet/AutoBase database -- known as the New Car Showroom -- was made available to businesses and consumers online via the CompuServe Information Service.
 Information Access Co., located in Foster City, is a division of Ziff Communications, and is the world's leading developer of periodical reference products, available on microfilm, CD-ROM, electronic formats and online. These products are for use in public, academic, secondary school and corporate libraries, and in offices and homes via personal computers.
