PITTSBURGH, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- You've seen the late-night infomercials. You've learned about the advanced hair transplants, hair systems and Rogaine -- and even the Hair Care 2000 salon. But now, the once small operation begun in the Fulton Building in downtown Pittsburgh has grown into big business for the Pittsburgh area -- and has caught the eye of people around the world, a spokesman said today.
That business is the Nu/Hart Hair Clinics. They have been at the forefront of major breakthroughs in the hair replacement industry and, thus, have positioned themselves as a world leader, a spokesman for the company said. "We are very fortunate to have a top team of doctors doing continual research with us," said John Gagliordony, president of Nu/Hart. "This helps us to give people the best possible solutions that are available today and provide special attention for each individual that comes through the door." The opportunities at Nu/Hart have brought some interesting clients and endorsements to the Pittsburgh company, the spokesman said.
Dan Haggarty of the TV show "Grizzly Adams" appeared in Nu/Hart's most recent infomercial after flying in from California for a hair transplant in preparation for a '90s version of the "Grizzly Adams" show. Charlene Tilton of the prime-time sensation "Dallas" appeared as a spokesperson for Nu/Hart Hair Clinics, endorsing its full-service hair care facility. Nu/Hart has also brought in many professional athletes, television personalities and singers, such as Mike Arnone of the early 1960s group "The Duprees." Many more celebrities arrive each month, the spokesman said.
With the help of cable networks and satellite communications, Nu/Hart's 30-minute infomercials have helped to educate people across the United States and in many countries world-wide on new options and advancements in the hair replacement industry -- including state-of-the-art hair transplants, and the patent-pending Liquid Skin Optic and Micro Blend Mesh hair systems. Nu/Hart also has one of the finest full-service styling salons, for cuts, body waves and colors. Everything is located under one roof, the spokesman said.
Nu/Hart's unique, state-of-the-art facility offers conveniences to clients that are above and beyond their expectations, the spokesman said. Each transplant patient receives their own private surgical suite, equipped with advanced medical supplies, as well as a telephone, fax machine, television and VCR (including an extensive video library) and refreshments for their relaxation -- all provided with no extra charge.
The tremendous growth of Nu/Hart has increased employment dramatically, including a staff of 12 board-certified doctors and an expected 100 employees by the end of the year. People fly in from all over the world for Nu/Hart's services, which benefits the community's revenues through hotels, restaurants, entertainment and transportation, the spokesman said.
Last year, Nu/Hart relocated from the Fulton Building to its contemporary Parkway Center suite and has a branch location in Johnstown, Pa. "Nu/Hart has had many offers to franchise in other cities nationally and internationally," said Gagliordony. "But before we make a move like that, we want to make sure that any new facility would not sacrifice the quality and expertise that we offer right here in Pittsburgh. Right now, we are the largest full-service hair care facility in the world -- and more importantly, we do the finest work with all of our services."
So until Nu/Hart comes to your neighborhood, as Haggarty said, if you want to have the best hair replacement options, "I recommend you fly, drive or hitch-hike to Pittsburgh. You can't go wrong."
