INFOMED TO PROVIDE CUSTOMIZED INFORMATION SYSTEM TO EHS HEALTH CARE SUBSIDIARIES

PRINCETON, N.J., Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- InfoMed, Inc., a leading provider of information management systems to the healthcare community, today announced an agreement to provide its STAT 2 system to EHS Home Health Care Service Inc. (EHHCS) and Healthsource, Inc. (HSI) of Oak Brook, Ill.
"We needed a system that could offer us the flexibility to react to upcoming changes in healthcare," said Alan Iftiniuk, Vice President, Administrative Services and Systems at EHHCS and HSI. According to Iftiniuk, the company followed a very structured methodology in analyzing the many management information systems available. "STAT 2's software was the most flexible, and as a company, InfoMed offered us the, ability to customize and modify, that software based on our specific internal needs as well as market conditions."
Lloyd Dean, President of EHHCS and HSI, agreed. "Based an our evaluation, Infomed's STAT 2 system was the best suited overall to meet our unique requirements," he said.
In order to meet EHHCS's and HSI's objectives, InfoMed will develop and implement a highly-customized version of STAT 2 -- a customization which will focus on the integration of the system with various hospital databases and other management information systems, i.e. Integral's Central Ledger/Budget system and Dun & Bradstreet's Payroll/Human Resources system. All interfaces involved in custom programming will comply with HL-7 protocol.
"Because it is highly integrated, the STAT 2 system is uniquely capable of performing in a multi-service and product environment," said Fred Neufeld, President and CEO of InfoMed. "This capability allows us to support the increasingly diverse requirements of home healthcare organizations."
The agreement will generate over one million dollars in revenue for InfoMed during the initial year of the project. This is the third $1 million plus agreement InfoMed has signed in the past year.
More and more homecare providers are providing multiple services and products (i.e. IV therapy, HME, nursing services, etc.) to their patients via multiple companies, thus making integration a crucial factor. STAT 2's multi-company features will enable EHS to move a client from company to company without having to re-enter or transfer data.
EHHCS and HSI's system will utilize a variety of STAT 2's advanced clinical financial, operational and specialty modules including: Scheduling, Consolidated Reporting, Multi-Company, IV Therapy, Home Medical Equipment, Electronic Messaging, Claims Tracking and Electronic Remittance Advice. The system will operate on the IBM RS/6000 Model 580.
