 INFINITI RATED FIRST IN J.D. POWER QUALITY SURVEY
 CARSON, Calif., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- New car owners have given


Infiniti, the luxury car division of Nissan Motor Corp., the highest marks for quality in the automotive marketplace, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 1992 Initial Quality Survey (SM) (IQS).
 Infiniti took the first place position with just 70 problems per 100 cars. The 1992 industry average is 125 problems per 100 cars. Infiniti's flagship model, the Q45, placed in the top 10 for the third consecutive year.
 "We're thrilled with the results," said Bill Bruce, Infiniti vice president, general manager. "Infiniti continues to set new standards in the automotive industry for vehicle quality and customer satisfaction by putting our customers first, The first-place IQS ranking, combined with the division's first place tie in the Customer Satisfaction Index survey, is one more affirmation that Infiniti is dedicated to changing the way cars are sold in the industry.
 "Today's customers demand superior quality and value and Infiniti continues to produce the products and customer service that meet their expectations," Bruce said.
 In addition, Infiniti's sister division, Nissan, ranked fifth place in this year's survey -- up from the 19th spot in 1991.
 The Initial Quality Survey, conducted annually, determines which new-model cars are most trouble-free during the first 90 days of ownership.
