INFINITI HAS BANNER YEAR IN 1993; DIVISION POSTS YEAR-END SALES INCREASE

 CARSON, Calif., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Infiniti, the luxury-car division of Nissan Motor Corp. U.S.A., announced today that it posted its fourth consecutive year-end total of 50,375 units, an increase of 14 percent over 1992 sales of 44,260 units.
 Infiniti posted a higher year-end sales percentage increase than Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and Acura.
 Individual model sales were led by the J30 personal luxury sedan, with a year-end total of 21,494, up 56 percent over sales of 13,774 for 1992. Year-end sales of the "New Q" were 12,255, while sales of the G20 increased by 14 percent, with a year-end total of 16,475 vs. sales of 14,548 in 1992.
 Infiniti closed the year with December sales of 3,809. By model, sales were 1,245 Q45s, 1,455 J30s, and 1,109 G20s.
 "This has been an incredible year for Infiniti," said William R. Bruce, vice president and general manager, Infiniti Division. "We successfully launched the `New Q' and enhanced the G20, along with a brand-new advertising campaign that has resulted in dramatic increases in positive brand image and awareness, showroom traffic and sales.
 "In 1993, Infiniti also set the industry record for sales satisfaction, with the Division being named the `Best Overall Carline' in J.D. Power and Associates `Sales Satisfaction Survey.'"
 Total Nissan Motor Corp. sales, including Nissan and Infiniti Division, totaled 680,357 up 18 percent over 1992 sales of 578,717.
