Air Canada Corp and United Airlines's UAL Corp have begun offering an inter-airline electronic-ticketing service that links both carrier's computer reservation systems together, which means passengers require only one ticket to travel on both carriers during a journey.

Delta Air Lines has been named the Official Charter Flight Provider and Official Provider of the 2002 Torch Relay for the 2002 Winter Olympics by the Salt Lake Organising Committee for the games.

Air services between Iran and Lebanon recommenced after a period of more than 20 years on 14 June when the first Iranian passenger aircraft landed at Beirut's airport. Iranian Airlines is intending to fly to Lebanon once per week.

Garuda Indonesia, the Indonesian national airline has rescheduled a USD62m debt through an agreement with an international leasing company, with the payment for debt in rent for Boeing 747-400 aircraft to be extended from May 2002 to 2009. The airline has also agreed with International Lease Finance Corp to reduced monthly rent for a Boeing 747-400 from USD950,000 to USD900,000 according to AsiaPulse.

Low-cost Irish carrier, Ryanair Holdings Plc, has linked its web site with Hotel Systems International, a worldwide hotel room reservation system, and from 28 June customers booking through will be able to access to make reservations with some 13,500 hotels in 70 countries.
