American Airlines has lodged an appeal with the US Supreme Court over a decision by the Fifth Circuit Appeals Court to allow long-haul air services to operate from Dallas Love Field.

Delta Air Lines pilots staged demonstrations at US airports and outside the airline's headquarters on 2 May to call for better pay and conditions in their upcoming contract negotiations.

AirTran Airways has launched a fare sale to promote its new Twin Cities service to Chicago's Midway Airport. Sale tickets are available until 12 May for travel between 10 June and 13 July.

Budget carrier JetBlue Airways is to waive advance purchase restrictions for the next two weeks to take stranded Tower Air passengers between New York and Florida for USD79 each way. Financially troubled Tower Air discontinued passenger services on 1 May.

Kenya Airways has acquired an Airbus A310-300 aircraft on a 15-month lease from Airbus Asset Management to effectively replace its A310-300 which crashed into the sea near Cote d'Ivoire in January.
