INDRESCO NAMES JACKSON AS CHAIRMAN

 DALLAS, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- INDRESCO Inc. (NYSE: ID) announced today that J. L. Jackson had been named Chairman of the Board, effective Jan. 1, 1994. He replaces R. W. Ytterberg who retired from the company at year-end.
 Jackson was one of the initial outside Directors of the company when it was spun off from Dresser Industries in August 1992. In October 1993, the Board of Directors elected him to the position of Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He was previously the President and Chief Operating Officer of Diamond Shamrock Corporation, serving that organization for over 20 years.
 Ytterberg, the original Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of INDRESCO, retired from active management after serving the company and its predecessor organization for nearly 25 years.
 In commenting upon his appointment, Jackson said he would "seek to focus management attention on growth opportunities, both internally and externally, through effective application of the corporation's strong financial resources."
 INDRESCO is a major industrial company that provides products essential to basic economic activity. In 1993, it reported revenues of $540 million and earnings of $21 million or $0.78 per share before accounting changes.
