INDIANA SOCIETY OF CHICAGO TO HONOR NIPSCO INDUSTRIES AND ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE

CHICAGO, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The Indiana Society of Chicago has named NIPSCO Industries, Inc. (NYSE: NI) "Hoosier Company of the Year" and St. Joseph's College, the 102-year old Rensselaer institution, as the "Hoosier Educational Institution of the Year."
NIPSCO Industries is an energy-based holding company and its primary subsidiary is Northern Indiana Public Service Company, a regulated natural gas and electric public utility serving the northern third of Indiana.
The awards will be presented by Ernest Summers III, president of the Society, on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Chicago Hilton and Towers Hotel.
Comedian Rich Little headlines the evening's entertainment. The Purdue Glee Club will round out the program along with Thomas M. McDermott, president of the Northwest Indiana Forum, as Master of Ceremonies.
The 1,800-member society, founded in 1905 by George Ade, Edward M. Holloway, and John T. McCutcheon, includes Hoosiers living both in and outside of Indiana who share pride in, and nostalgia for, their native state. The Annual Dinner was once described by Ade as " ... a combination of circus, street carnival, grand opera, Chautauqua, literary jubilee and Old Home Week."
