INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER TO REDEEM SECURITIES

 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M), formerly Indiana & Michigan Electric Company, today announced that it will redeem all of the outstanding shares of its $2.25 cumulative preferred stock ($25 par value) on March 1, 1993 at the redemption price of $25.56 per share, plus a sum computed at the annual dividend rate per share accrued from Jan. 1 to the redemption date.
 Notice is expected to be mailed to shareowners of record on or before Jan. 29, 1993. First Chicago Trust Company of New York is the redemption agent for this series of preferred stock.
 I&M, headquartered in Fort Wayne, Ind., is an operating electric utility subsidiary of American Electric Power Company, Inc. (NYSE: AEP).
