INCOMING NEW YORK POST OWNER STEVE HOFFENBERG NAMES BRENDA WALSH BUSINESS EDITOR

NEW YORK, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The incoming publisher of the New York Post, Steven Hoffenberg, today announced Post veteran Brenda Walsh has been named business editor of the paper, replacing Gerard Bray who has been named editor of the daily.
"There are very few people who could have filled Gerard Bray's shoes," stated Hoffenberg. "Ms. Walsh is among those select few who not only understand the New York business environment but how to present it to our readers in a lively, readable fashion that captures the full scope of our nation's economy."
Walsh, 41 years old, joined the Post in 1985 as a copy person, and was most recently business news copy editor. A 1974 graduate of the College of Mt. St. Vincent, Walsh came to the Post after a brief stint with Gannett and eight years at the New York brokerage firm of Cowen & Co.
Ms. Walsh stated, "I am thrilled with this appointment. I look forward to continuing to provide the readers of the New York Post with comprehensive business news coverage and full stock tables. Gerard Bray created a New York Post business section that set a standard for excellence and I look forward to continuing that tradition."
Mr. Bray stated, "It comes as a profound personal and professional pleasure to have Brenda Walsh as a senior editor of the newspaper that New Yorkers have to read."
