Early Life: Fetcher was born in north London on January 31, 1966.
As a child performer with both stage and screen credits, he made a notable impression as Babyface in Alan Parker's 1976 production of Bugsy Malone.
Career: Had bit parts in The Long Good Friday, The Elephant Man, The Bounty and Derek Jarman's Caravaggio. Landed his first leading role as a youth determined to lose his virginity in The Rachel Papers, and went on to star as a priest in Brit movie Jude. The actor is also famed for his portrayal of a cocky American youth in 1989 TV series Press Gang.
Enjoyed a short stint presenting GamesMaster for Channel 4 before Guy Ritchie's Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels made him a household name. Currently playing real-life war hero John Martin in Band of Brothers, the most expensive TV series ever made.
Love Life: Lived with Julia Sawalha for four years. Married theatre director Dalia, 34, five years ago.
Don't Mention: The taxman. A few years ago he owed pounds 80,000 and resorted to living in his car.
