IN THE COURTS~: Teenager is locked up over assault.

A COVENTRY teenager has been detained in a young offenders' institution for four months.

Robert Joseph Brown, 19, of Avon Street, Stoke, Coventry, was sentenced for one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Other cases heard at Coventry Magistrates Court on July 13 included:

Robert Joseph Grant, aged 37, of Kirby Close, Foleshill, Coventry, destroying property to the value of pounds 100, fined pounds 50 and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 100.

Samal Ramal Sabir, 22, of Primrose Hill Street, Hillfields, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, failing to produce a licence, using a vehicle without a certificate of insurance, failing to produce a certificate of insurance, using a vehicle without a test certificate and failing to produce a test certificate, fined pounds 290.

Kinah Sidile, 34, of Hertford Lodge, The Butts, Earlsdon, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, failing to produce a licence and failing to produce a test certificate, fined pounds 50.

Shea Bhasker Parekh, 21, of Catherine Street, Hillfields, Coventry, possession of cannabis, a class C controlled drug, having a butterfly knife in a public place without lawful authority, using a vehicle without insurance and driving with an incorrect licence, fined pounds 165, ordered to forfeit the cannabis and knife for destruction and banned from driving for six months under the totting up provisions.

Ronald William Francis White, 40, of Pembrook Road, Holbrooks, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, failing to produce a licence, using a vehicle without a certificate of insurance, failing to produce a certificate of insurance, using a vehicle without a test certificate and failing to produce a test certificate, fined pounds 290.

Matthew John Downes, 30, of Robin Hood Road, Willenhall, Coventry, having a kitchen knife in a public place without good reason, fined pounds 50 and ordered to forfeit the kitchen knife for destruction.

Stephen Alan Murray, 48, of Grindle Road, Longford, Coventry, driving with excess alcohol, fined pounds 250, banned from driving for 20 months and a drink-drive course was accepted.

Andrew Robert Farndon, 18, of Henrietta Street, Hillfields, Coventry, driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance and driving a motorbike without wearing protective headgear, curfew order for four months, banned from driving for two years and fined pounds 200.

Steven Paul Chatwood, 18, of Kenpas Highway, Finham, Coventry, theft as a trespasser to the value of pounds 30, community rehabilitation order for one year and ordered to pay pounds 60 compensation.

Vanita Parmar, 48, of Kingman Way, Brownsover, Rugby, theft to the value of pounds 14.89, conditional discharge for six months.

Natalie Brown, 19, of Fabian Close, Willenhall, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, using a vehicle without insurance, using a vehicle without a test certificate and failing to motoring documents, fined pounds 330 and banned from driving for six months under totting up provisions.

Michael Fountain, 37, of Whitchurch Way, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, failing to produce a test certificate and using a vehicle without a test certificate, fined pounds 100.

Rebuar Hamahyar, 20, of Stanley Road, Earlsdon, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, using a vehicle without a certificate of insurance, using a vehicle without a test certificate and failing to produce motoring documents, fined pounds 350.
