IN THE COURTS: Jail for flouting driving ban.

A DISQUALIFIED Coventry driver who was twice caught at the wheel by police has been jailed for seven months by city magistrates.

Shane Faulkner, aged 24, of Hillside, Stoke Heath, was also charged with obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty and two counts each of using a vehicle without insurance, failing to comply with a community service order and failing to comply with a probation order.

Faulkner was also fined pounds 1,200 and banned from driving for two years under the totting up provisions.

Other cases dealt with by the Coventry court on January 29 included:

Philip Campbell, aged 55, of Peyto Close, Holbrooks, Coventry, failing to provide a specimen or specimens of breath, fined pounds 200 and banned from driving for two years.

Aaron James Liburd, aged 21, of Ranby Road, Hillfields, Coventry, failing to comply with an attendance centre order, fined pounds 50 or serve one day's detention.

Michael Blackstock, aged 32, of Newey Road, Wyken, Coventry, conduct whereby a breach of the peace was caused, bound over for six months.

David Henry Stephen Burt, aged 24, of Manfield Avenue, Walsgrave, Coventry, failing to surrender to custody, fined pounds 50 or serve one day's detention.

Paul Mathew Thomas Gough, aged 26, of Powell Road, Stoke Heath, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 120, fined pounds 125.

Ian James Davies, aged 24, of Paradise House, Eden Street, Paradise, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 120, fined pounds 125.

Lee James Smith, aged 30, of Allesley Old Road, Chapelfields, Coventry, failing to comply with a community service order, three months imprisonment.

Hayley White, aged 19, of Plymouth Place, Leamington, theft of a cashpoint card and obtaining property by deception to the value of pounds 262.20, conditional discharge for one year and six offences taken into consideration.

Karl Martin Wilson, aged 18, of Prior Deram Walk, Canley, Coventry, assault and destroying property to the value of pounds 200, probation order for one year and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 175.

Russell Craig MacDonald, aged 30, of Edgehill Place, Tile Hill North, Coventry, using a vehicle without insurance, fined pounds 100.

Tracey Marie Murray, aged 30, of Thimbler Road, Canley, Coventry, using a vehicle without insurance and using a vehicle without a test certificate, fined pounds 150 and banned from driving for six months.

John Frederick Brooks, aged 32, of Moathouse Lane, Canley, Coventry, using violence for the purpose of securing entry into premises and destroying property namely a window, fined pounds 150.

Paul Andrew Francis Clancy, aged 33, of Gordon Street, Earlsdon, Coventry, damaging property to the value of pounds 279.89, probation order for one year and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 278.

Ishmael Aeron Duke, aged 18, of Edward Bailey Close, Ernesford Grange, Coventry, damaging property to the value of pounds 350, ordered to pay compensation of pounds 350.

Donna Lorraine Rahim, aged 27, of Queensland Avenue, Chapelfields, Coventry, using threatening words or behaviour, conditional discharge for one year.

Sunil Solanki, aged 20, of Hollis Road, Stoke, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 55.97, conditional discharge for six months.

Christopher George Capok, aged 25, of Dormer Harris Avenue, Tile Hill South, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, failing to produce a licence, using a vehicle without insurance, failing to produce a certificate of insurance, using a vehicle without a test certificate, failing to produce a test certificate and destroying property to the value of pounds 100, fined pounds 330 and ordered to pay compensation of pounds 100.

Khalid Swara Hagi, aged 24, of Sandy Lane, Radford, Coventry, driving with excess alcohol, conditional discharge for six months, banned from driving for one year and a drink-drive course accepted.

Kevin Paul Monger, aged 35, of Meadway, Stoke Heath, Coventry, conduct amounting to harassment and two charges of breach of a conditional discharge, probation order for one year and a restraining order made for one year.

Manjinder Singh Dosanjh, aged 19, of Blackberry Lane, Stoke Heath, Coventry, obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty, driving without due care and attention, failing to provide a specimen or specimens of breath, using a vehicle without insurance and driving with an incorrect licence, fined pounds 275, banned from driving for 18 months and a drink-drive course accepted.
