IN HOME HEALTH ACQUIRES FAUST, EXPANDS INTO HOUSTON MARKET
MINNETONKA, Minn., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- In Home Health, Inc. (NASDAQ: IHHI), has acquired the ongoing business of Faust Healthcare Network, Inc., and Faust Home Health Care, Inc. (collectively, "Faust"), which provide a broad range of home health care services to the Houston market, Judy M. Figge, president and chief executive officer of In Home Health, announced today. Terms of the transaction were not announced.
"Houston is the tenth largest market in the U.S. and has significant potential for future growth. The acquisition of Faust represents In Home Health's entry into its 11th geographic market and will be our 23rd branch," Figge said. "Entry into the thriving Houston metropolitan area represents a logical extension of our established presence in the Southwest and Midwest."
Faust, primarily a provider of high-tech and infusion home health services since 1990, had revenues of $1.2 million for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 1991. Faust recently was granted Medicare certification and is now a full-service home care provider. In Home Health intends to add an infusion pharmacy in the near future. The office will operate under the Home Health Plus name, used by the company for its California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio branches.
In addition to Houston, In Home Health has home care operations in ten other U.S. metropolitan markets: Phoenix, Ariz.; Los Angeles and San Francisco, Calif.; Denver, Colo.; Chicago, Ill.; Detroit, Mich.; Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minn.; Kansas City and St. Louis, Mo.; and Cincinnati, Ohio. The company also operates infusion pharmacies in its Chicago, Kansas City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, St. Louis and Phoenix markets.
In Home Health provides quality health care to people in their own homes. Home care is one of the fastest growing segments of the U.S. health care industry, currently estimated at $16 billion annually in the United States and expected to grow to $35 billion by the mid-1990's.
