In Home Health, Inc. also received a license to offer hospice services in Fairview Heights, Ill., on Nov. 29, 1993, allowing expansion of its St. Louis market. According to Ms. Figge: "With the addition of Northern California and the Fairview Heights office, we have expanded our hospice program to 22 of our 38 branches. This program complements the comprehensive home care we currently provide." "Hospice is a philosophy of care for the terminally ill that emphasizes palliative care, i.e., pain and symptom control. Ms. Figge said, "The goal of the plan is to care for the client and family, as the unit of care, and to provide an alert and pain-free life so the individual can live a quality life until they die with dignity and support at home." In Home Health provides quality comprehensive health care services to clients of all ages in their own homes through a network of 38 offices in 16 of the nation's top 50 markets, including: Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Norfolk, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, Raleigh/Durham, St. Louis, San Francisco, and Seattle. Home health care is one of the fastest growing and most cost effective segments of the U.S. health care industry, currently estimated at $16 billion annually and expected to grow to $36 billion in the mid-1990s. -0- 12/9/93 /CONTACT: Mike Kennedy, vice president-treasurer of In Home Health, 612-449-7500/ (IHHI)
