IN HOME HEALTH, INC. ACQUIRES EXPERIENCED NURSING SERVICES; ENTERS TOLEDO METROPOLITAN MARKET

MINNETONKA, Minn., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- In Home Health, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: IHHI) has acquired ENS, Inc. (doing business as Experienced Nursing Services), a home care company based in Toledo, Ohio, it was announced today by Judy M. Figge, president and chief executive officer of In Home Health. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"The Experienced Nursing Services (ENS) acquisition expands In Home Health's Ohio operations to include two of the larger markets in that state, Toledo and Cincinnati," Figge said. "The growth we have experienced in the Cincinnati market since September 1991 has been tremendous. We expect Toledo will be as exciting. The Toledo market is also only 90 miles from the Detroit market, which allows for a stronger regional presence." The ENS office will operate under the name Home Health Plus.
Carol Peake, RN, the principal of ENS, will be the branch general manager of the Toledo operation. "We are pleased that Ms. Peake and the members of her dedicated staff have agreed to join us, and we look forward to a mutually beneficial association," Figge said.
Peake commented: "I'm pleased to be a part of In Home Health, with its emphasis on providing quality care, education and training. The opportunities for growth in the Toledo market, coupled with In Home Health's comprehensive services, are outstanding. Our Toledo operation will become an integral part of the growing nationwide network of home health care providers. I really look forward to the challenge of growing Toledo into a major market for In Home Health."
In addition to Toledo, In Home Health has operations in 16 other major U.S. markets: Phoenix; Los Angeles and San Francisco; Denver; Chicago; Detroit; Minneapolis/St. Paul; Kansas City and St. Louis; Raleigh-Durham, N.C.; Cincinnati; Pittsburgh; Dallas and Houston; Virginia Beach, Va.; and Seattle.
In Home Health provides comprehensive quality health care to people of all ages in their own homes. Home care is one of the fastest growing segments of the health care industry, currently estimated at $21 billion annually in the United States and expected to grow to $36 billion by the mid-1990's.
