Doha residents dieIndian expatriate Bibin Kuruvilla (32) died yesterday in Doha after a sudden illness. He was the manager of Industrial Project Support and Services Company. A member of the Elavumkudy family from Perumbavoor in Kerala, Kuruvilla is survived by his wife Siji and children, Joe, a student at Shantiniketan Indian School and Sara.

A 42-year-old Indian expatriate died of a cardiac arrest at his residence in Madinat Khalifa area in the afternoon on Tuesday. The deceased identified as Sajeev George (pictured), hailed from Pala in Kerala's Kottayam district and had been a Doha resident for the last few years. George had reached home soon after collecting his children from Shanti Niketan Indian School, Wakrah, when he complained of chest pain. Even though an emergency ambulance team was summoned, his life could not be saved, sources said. The victim leaves behind his wife Sinimol, a nurse at Hamad Medical Corporation Al Khor Hospital and children Kevin (9 years), and Ann Maria (4). A friend of the deceased has said that arrangements were being made to fly the body home.

Qatar Charity in pact with hypermarkets

The chocolate or chewing gum which one gets in lieu of small change can now be donated as charity at Mega Mart and Shoprite , local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday. Qatar Charity has signed an agreement in this regard with Mega Mart and Shoprite whereby shoppers have the option of donating the small change to Qatar Charity which has worldwide charitable activities all through the year. In addition to the small change one may also donate any other amount if one wishes.
