IN BRIEF: Scan clears Gay for London date.

ATHLETICS: Double world sprint champion Tyson Gay is still on schedule to race in London on July 25 following an MRI scan on his injured hamstring, USA Track and Field announced yesterday.

American 100 metres record holder Gay pulled up during his 200m US trials quarter-final on Saturday after a severe cramp in his left hamstring curtailed his bid to double up in Beijing.

"Tyson is expected to engage in 'active rest' for up to 12-14 days," a USATF statement read.
